    Laura Benetton

    Laura is a London based Italian artist. She studied painting in Venice at the prestigious Academy of Fine Art. In the 2008 She has been awarded for the prestigious Arnaldo Pomodoro's artist in residence , where she spent 3 months in Urbino investigating metals and sculpture culminating in the creation of a wall metal sculpture for the Pomodoro's foundation. After the residence she spent few years travelling and painting trying to investigate more about her practice and gain experience of different materials and technique. She has been travelling and working between Venice, Istanbul, Pesaro, and Florence. After graduating she has started to exhibit in Venice, where she had her first solo, at 'Palazzo Boldu' and has been selected from the established A+A gallery to create her first installation projects where she created a multidisciplinary installation using light, sounds and painting. In the 2008-9 she moved to Istanbul, where she spent a year focusing on the painting technique. End of 2009 she moved to Pesaro, Italy where she explored sculpture, Resin and large scale painting and worked as a scenographer and painter for the theatre and for the Maestro Luigi Pizzi. In 2010 she moved to London. In 2012 she has been selected from the Italian Institute of Culture to exhibit at the Italian Embassy. Since 2014 she is a resident artist in the Wimbledonartstudios. She is represented from different galleries from UK, Italy and USA and her work has been exhibited in art fairs and shows across the world, including, New York and Chicago. Laura Benetton's work has held in private and public collections and commissioned for many private projects and interiors in London and abroad for corporation and Palaces. Her work has been selected for a different number of projects and arts residence and in 2016 she has been awarded to exhibit in the "Houses of `Parliament " for the exhibition "Tomorrow's child".
